This was the first album i ever heard of the residents and for me it s still my favourite.

There are two variations of this second pressing. This ralph records reissue has a different sleeve artwork and a new design on labels. Available as an edition of 500 copies in red vinyl this one and in regular black vinyl. They are like rhyming instruments that project pictures before our eyes.

A style emerges in the imagery and in the lyric rhythm. Even though this cd only has the title duck stab it includes all the tracks from two previously released eps called duck stab and buster and glen which were also compiled onto a single lp back in 1978. The residents use words for the sake of their sounds and for how they feel when leaving the tongue duck stab vinyl. However the official title of the release is duck stab without the exclamation mark as it can be seen on top back sleeve and on both labels of the disc.
